Term 1 Program ; Manners for the Modern Warrior!
It’s that time of year again! The School holidays are over, the kids are going back to school, and you feel like you’re going to be nagging your head off for the entire year. It feels exhausting to think of the constant repeating of requests to tidy up, or help.
“Please + Thank you” have vanished along with doing things the first time you’re asked to do them.
Repeated requests to put toys away, pick up towels off the floor in the bathroom or simply put lunchboxes on the sink after emptying your bags from school feel like major fights with every friendly request.
Don’t despair! For term 1 we will be having a MAJOR good manners refresher with Manners for the Modern Warrior. We will be cleaning up after ourselves, using our manners, taking “No” gracefully, and being kind and helpful in no time at all.
Best of all, successful completion of the program gets you your medal of warrior honour!
Best of all, this program runs alongside our regular martial arts syllabus. Kids take home their manners book, and parents put the manners chart on the fridge. Each week, instead of fights and arguments, kids are given two chances to do what theyve been asked, then it’s simply a cross on the sheet, and back to Sensei the following week…. and oh dear! You can’t get your medal of warrior honour until your sheets are successfully ticked off.
This helps mums in particular break the cycle of nagging & provides them support while they learn to instill consequences for behaviour both good and bad! Everybody wins and kids feel fantastic about themselves as people everywhere start commenting almost immediately on their great manners.
We are enrolling for the 2019 season and term 1 kids off on 29th January. Don’t miss out on this great program, it is only offered in term 1 each year. Term 2 of course is “Winning the Homework War” …..
